Photochromic inks

Thanks to photochromic inks, spectacular visual effects can be achieved. Completely transparent, they colour under the direct sunlight (or a UV lamp), revealing colours only after exposure to the light.

A printer can create labels or packagings which change colours when lit by the rays of light, elements of a product which provide information only when the sunlight shines on them, warning printouts e.g. alarming when the recommended doses of UV radiation falling on the surface are exceeded, natural decorative elements such as leaves or vines entwining the printout, ‘waking up to life’ together with the rising sun.
