Thermochromic paints for construction
Thermochromic paints use pigments which react to the temperature. Due to this, they can spectacularly change in one moment. Reversible and irreversible thermochromic paints
Thermochromic paints can be divided into reversible and irreversible ones. In the first case, the paint discolours under the influence of the heat e.g. of the human body, hot liquid, hair dryer etc., and then it returns to its initial colour. After a touch, the original colour disappears for a moment, and this can be really widely used. Most often, thermochronic paint is used as a security of authenticity in the case of tickets, securities, lotteries, vouchers, or packaging as well as an indicator of temperature reach or decrease used on labels and packaging. However, these are not the only uses! It will work perfectly in marketing as well and board games and escape rooms. Reversible thermochromic paints are also used as indicators of the temperature decrease e.g. on labels of cooling beverages to mark that they have reached the desired temperature in a fridge
Irreversible thermochromic paints are a little less popular than a reversible variant due to the fact that they discolour permanently. However, they are also used in many areas of industries and medicine. They work best in printing indicators which confirm reaching high temperature by a product, e.g. to indicate that a product has been cooked (has reached the temperature of boiling water) or to indicate sterilisation or autoclaving.
